South West Regional Board Meeting

The South West Regional Board of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) will hold its next quarterly meeting at Gretna Hall Hotel, Gretna Green on Thursday 10th November. The meeting, which is open to the public, begins at 09:30am.

The Board advises SEPA on matters affecting the delivery of services within the region. It also engages with communities, regulated industries, local authorities, environmental partners and other stakeholders to gain a better understanding how SEPA's work is perceived in the area.

Prior to the meeting on Thursday the board and external stakeholders will undertake a tour of Chapelcross Nuclear Power Station, Annan.  The tour will form the basis for discussion on decommissioning a nuclear power station and the opportunities for redeveloping of the site.  Outputs and feedback will be reported during the board meeting.

Regional board members also play an important role in promoting the work of SEPA and represent a wide range of interests including pollution control, conservation, local government, industry, business, education and consumer affairs.

Minutes, agendas and details of board members are available from www.sepa.org.uk
